RISE Summer Learning Program – Rebrand
The Rise of RISE
Before we began designing a complete rebrand, we were first introduced to RISE on a much smaller scale. Lavinia Group needed branded RISE materials for a quickly approaching National Summer Learning Summit (NSLA) Conference, and we got to work brainstorming creative ways to utilize Lavinia Group’s existing branding to meet the tight deadline.
SERVICES: branding / website design / marketing collateral / materials

Once the winning concept was chosen, we created booth decor and branded materials for Lavinia Group to use at the conference. The established look remained in place until it was time to kick off phase two of RISE’s evolution.

The Rebrand of a Rebrand
When it was finally time for RISE to get the specialized treatment it deserved, we were excited to roll up our sleeves and go back to the drawing board. The client was interested in exploring the warmer colors in K12 Coalition’s palette, going for a summery vibe that fit perfectly within the parent company’s branding. This direction, paired with a request that we focus on statistics and photo-driven design, gave us all the insight we needed to get started.

A Coalition of Concepts
We ventured down multiple avenues to find the right path. We experimented with playfulness and professionalism, saturated colors and muted tones, illustration styles and font choices. Although each concept was completely different, all presented unique solutions for our client’s desires.

The Client’s Choice
The chosen concept was warm and friendly, utilizing softer tones, polaroid-style photography, hand-drawn doodles and sun-inspired shapes to evoke the nostalgia of summer camp. Combined with illustrative background elements and a classic font, RISE finally had a bold and inviting signature look.

A Library of Looks
With our moodboard as our anchor, we set sail designing ownable and memorable patterns, illustrations, icons and curriculum badges to be used across all RISE materials. We provided direction on how to filter and frame photos, where to use elements within designs and how to make RISE’s branding jump off the page and land in potential customer’s memories.

A New Landing Page Comes to Life
With our new brand fully in place, it was time to redesign Lavinia Group’s RISE landing page to reflect the new look. We went beyond simply re-skinning the existing content, we worked alongside the client to strategically reassess the site.

We streamlined the main landing page, creating a clearer layout with more relevant and concise content. We then created a supplemental curriculum page where the program was further outlined.

Materials Makeover
Next on our list was redesigning all RISE’s materials to shine as bright as their new brand. Most notably were the roadmap (a timeline designed to help teachers prepare to teach the RISE curriculum), the trifold (an informational brochure about the program) and the white paper (a collection of case studies and statistics).

“When I think of Amy at BatesMeron, she has to be one of the best people I have ever worked with. She is a very organized project manager who communicates quickly but is also an extremely good listener. BatesMeron became more of a partner and felt almost like our own in-house design team. Working with the entire team is a joy and I actually look forward to our online meetings. They always bring their very best and collaborating with this is magical. I have learned so much from working with them. They are true thought partners. I could not do my job as well without them!”
