Get to know Lili Kryzanek, BatesMeron’s new Content Director! Her lifelong passion for all things creative makes her a perfect fit for our team.
I interviewed Lili as part of our 6 Questions feature: a series of one-on-one interviews with people we work with who make us proud. Sometimes we like to turn the tables and put our staffers in the hot seat, so you get to meet them, and see just how special our team is.
Hmmm. As much as I’d like to understand why men are the way they are, I’m more interested in experiencing life as a different species. I’d probably decide to swap with some kind of whale or dolphin—I’d love to explore life under the sea.
My passion for marketing stems from my passion for creating things. I love coming up with an idea and finding the perfect way to bring it to life. I love writing, I love photography, I love videography—and I’ve been lucky enough to carve out a career path that allows me to dabble in all those mediums.
I’d probably revert to my independent artist lifestyle. It’s a much harder grind than a steady 9-5, but there’s a special sense of freedom and thrill that comes along with the creative hustle. My dream life would be to own a hybrid art gallery-café that features live jazz a few nights a week in some cute European city.
Bonus Fact: Lili established herself as a phenomenal solo American jazz and soul vocalist. Someone even wrote a wikipedia page about her. Check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lili_K.
I really love the Sustainable Aviation Fuel campaign that United is doing. They’ve named Sesame Street’s Oscar the Grouch their First Chief Trash Officer in an effort to educate consumers about the initiatives United is pursuing to help fight climate change. It’s brilliant advertising, it puts a spotlight on United being the first US airline to commit to decarbonizing air travel, and it has the potential to actually make the world a better place. I’d say United is killing it with this campaign.
I get inspired by seeing how other people’s minds work—I love seeing an ad or a piece of copy and wishing I wrote it. It’s also very cool to see the new generation of creatives (including some of my best friends!) rising to the top in branding, marketing and advertising. I anticipate that we’ll see a substantial shift in the industry as the Millennial and Gen Z folks start to dominate Creative and Art Director roles. I can’t wait.
I think I’d pick Thailand. It’s been high on my travel list for a long time and is completely different from anywhere I’ve visited thus far. I would bring my partner Myles; he loves eating, exploring and water adventures as much as I do. I might start booking this trip now…
