Takeda Pharmaceuticals – Takeda Cares Day
Each year, Takeda brings their dedication to health, wellness and charitable causes together into Takeda Cares Day.
During the event, Takeda employees are encouraged to sign up for a 5k walk/run on Takeda’s Deerfield campus track, with the company donating money for every kilometer walked or run to benefit one of several philanthropies chosen by the employees themselves. Working with Takeda’s team to help employees and volunteers gear up for Takeda Cares Day, we refreshed the event identity, designed swag for the 5k and topped it off with collateral to match.

Staying within Takeda’s brand guidelines, we developed an on-brand identity while still giving the charity event its own unique look and feel. Inspired by the steadfast growth and reaching branches of a tree, this look speaks to Takeda’s dedication to staying rooted in its community and its effort to engage and support people in need.
We pulled this theme through to the event collateral, which included volunteer lanyards, tote bags, t-shirts and over 75 day-of wayfinding signs.
Over the years, Takeda Cares Day has continually grown bigger and better, annually raising hundreds of thousands of dollars by hundreds of employees. To celebrate their progress and spread awareness of Takeda Cares Day to local and international teammates alike, BatesMeron also helped Takeda’s team translate their story into a beautiful and compelling infographic.
Our team utilized the telling story and statistics from Takeda Cares’ history to inform both our design and the flow of the infographic. We used a track graphic to guide readers through the results of past events, incorporating icons, visually exciting typography and quotes from participants to really bring the graphic to life.
Takeda was thrilled with the piece, sending their new infographic out in their corporate newsletter and proudly sharing it with their global offices as an example of the impact Takeda can make on its community.
