Pacific Plug & Liner – Website
A New Website for a New Era
It’s natural for brands to change as they grow—but it’s essential to ensure every piece of branding moves in the same direction. To align with the refined, modernized direction that PP&L had been heading, it was only inevitable that we’d shift our efforts to designing and developing a refreshed website to match.
The new site also had a second, equally important goal: to incorporate a more sophisticated ordering process integrated within the site through a 3rd party company named Picas. This was a major development, as it would allow customers to order directly from PP&L’s site and get access to a full list of availability upon login.
SERVICES: website design

A Bold Splash
The first concept branched out a bit from the client’s original direction, adding a fresh twist and vibrant perspective. Inspired by the shape of the PPL logo, this concept relied heavily on the logomark and soft curves to create design accents and highlights. The simple elegance of the logo paired with the natural beauty and complexity of PPL florals balanced beautifully to create a bold and modern look.

An Elegant Approach
More aligned with the client’s original ask, the second concept was heavily influenced by the existing website and brand elements that the client was still loving—repurposing and modernizing them for a revitalized look. Focused on closeups and spotlights of lush PP&L plants, elegant moments of color and simplified patterns, this minimal approach guided the user to eye-catching perennial varieties and easily digestible information.

The Chosen Theme
Pacific Plug & Liner went with the second, more minimal concept, asking for slight adjustments to create a brighter, lighter site rather than the previously designed floods of black. We got to work meticulously outlining each page and pulling design through.

A Mighty Menu
We started with the navigation bar—as it was integral to the overall success of the project. We needed a mega menu that would allow users to clearly navigate the site, helping them embrace the new and improved way to order and check availability.

A New Way to Get in Touch
We were excited to modernize the website with some movement. Working with our developer, we created an interactive map that displayed the appropriate sales representative for each region when a user hovered over it.

Before & After
Before & After
“Working with the team at BatesMeron Sweet Design on our new website was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Not only did they deliver a beautifully designed, modern site that truly reflects the Pacific Plug & Liner brand, but they made the entire process seamless and efficient. The BMSD team immediately understood our goals and vision, and they brought them to life. Their creativity, professionalism, and ability to translate our needs into a functional, grower-focused website exceeded our expectations.”
“When I think of Amy at BatesMeron, she has to be one of the best people I have ever worked with. She is a very organized project manager who communicates quickly but is also an extremely good listener. BatesMeron became more of a partner and felt almost like our own in-house design team. Working with the entire team is a joy and I actually look forward to our online meetings. They always bring their very best and collaborating with this is magical. I have learned so much from working with them. They are true thought partners. I could not do my job as well without them!”
