Luz Farms – Rebrand
The Warm & Fuzzies
It didn’t take long for the BMSD team to fall head over hooves for Luz Farms. Their mission—offering meaningful experiences with animals and educating the public on ethical care—resonated deeply with us. After a recent feature on a local news network brought in a wave of new attention, Luz Farms needed a brand identity that could match their growing visibility while staying true to their roots. We couldn’t wait to get started.
SERVICES: branding / website design / marketing collateral / swag / outdoor signage
New Look, Same Heritage
First up: the logo. The original was lovingly created by a family member and held sentimental value—but it wasn’t grabbing the attention of potential visitors driving by. We approached this with care, aiming to honor the farm’s legacy while enhancing visibility and appeal. Drawing from the Luz family’s Hispanic heritage and the inviting, gentle energy of their bovine ambassadors, we experimented with designs that would balance tradition with charm. Something rustic, modern and all heart.

A Brand Is Re-Born
The winning design was both warm and grounded—perfectly echoing the personality of Luz Farms. It was created to feel right at home in the pasture, on a sweatshirt or on the side of the road catching a traveler’s eye.

Mooving On…
With the logo in place, our team turned to the rest of the brand ecosystem. We refreshed Luz Farms’ website and social media channels, ensuring consistency across touchpoints and improving usability for visitors.

We also introduced new branded materials to help strengthen their presence and generate revenue, including guest loyalty cards, branded T-shirts for farm visitors, cozy sweatshirts for staff and outdoor signage to help guide new cuddlers in.

The Full Cow & Caboodle
To truly bring the Luz Farms experience to life, we went on site—camera in hand and hearts open. We met the entire Luz family, both two-legged and four, and spent time cuddling, brushing and bonding with each of the cows and getting to know their unique personalities.

The Cast of Cuddlers
Reba
The Queen. 1700+ lbs of calm, commanding presence. She’s the matriarch, with a rare brindle coat and strong “don’t touch my ears” energy. When brushed, she slips into a meditative state, breathing so deeply she might just blow your hair back.

Ruby
Reba’s baby girl—sweet, adorable and blessed with her mama’s ruby red locks!
Stacy
At 3 years old, Stacy is Reba’s equal in Queen Beedom—she’s big, bold and beautiful. She’s been relaxing since giving birth to her ginger baby bull, Guapo. Both queens gave birth to little cows this year who are destined to follow in their footsteps.

Guapo
Still nursing at 13 months, this ginger baby is a bit of a mama’s boy—but we love him for it.
Domino
Black and white with giant floppy ears and white socks. Call him from the field and watch those ears bounce. Star of the “Missed Calls” music video by SHIA (yes, really), he’s a sniffer and a licker—watch your hair.

Teddy
The foodie. A smaller golden guy with a white face and white eyes. Once devoured all of Stacy and Reba’s food in one go. Will never say no to a scratch or a snack.
Chewy
Tiny and mighty. Black fur with copper highlights, Chewy is part Highland, part Highpark, all adorable. She’s got black eyes, nose and tongue, and lives for a good chin scratch.

Yogi
The sensitive soul. A Holstein dairy calf, Yogi was separated from his mom far too early and spent 22 lonely days before meeting his first cow friend. He loves people, clings hard and most famously—steals yogurt.
Zoro
All black with striking white brows. His name was hotly debated (Judge was the runner-up), but Zorro suits him. Stoic, a little serious and very photogenic.

“We originally weren’t sure if marketing was for us, but we’ve definitely seen a dramatic increase in bookings since we started working with BatesMeron! From the merchandise to the signage, we feel our farm has become even more memorable for our guests. BMSD has been insightful and consultative, and we appreciate all they’ve done to shine a light on our family business!”
