2018 is now in full effect and while a considerable portion of my energy these days goes into talking myself off the couch and out of my hooded electric blanket with sleeves, I know deep down that this is going to be an exciting year full of new projects and opportunities.
Yes, it’s time to rally, shake the frost and cold off our proverbial creative-thinking snow caps, pop some fresh ideas into the toasters of our minds and get dreaming of what might be coming our way in the year ahead.
I’m calling this exercise a project vision board; a collection of dreamy “what-if?” jobs and collaborations of all shapes and sizes that we can think about to keep us warm through the rest of this frosty, dead-of-winter season.
Branding of any size or sort is our passion, but the idea of going through our branding process on a macro level and creating an identity to represent a latitude and longitude that in turn represents its people and culture and way of living—CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE?
Here are some examples of identities created for cities that take our minds soaring to jet-setting heights.
I don’t know about you but back in the day, my pencil box runneth over with neon-colored mechanical pencils, scissors that couldn’t cut paper, Mr. Sketch Markers and delightfully animated floaty pens. They’re still as kitschy and cute as they were in the ’90s and boy, would we love sending in an order for a custom batch. If the Mark Twain Cave in Hannibal, Missouri gets a floaty pen—then should your brand.
Coffee and beer are two of our favorite things to put in the tank. Beyond their flavors and aromas and stimulating effects on the brain, one look at this heavenly packaging should tell you all you need to know about why these bags and cans have reached vision-board status.
From low tech, textury coolness to high-brow techniques, anything fresh off a press = Yes, please! Nothing against regular old CMYK, but we are looking forward to layering up the not-so-ordinary print processes in 2018. It’s time to stand out!
Nothing says “you’ve made it” like your very own custom typeface. Just ask GE & AirBnB. The challenge and possibilities around creating 26+ unique little letterforms would have us jumping for joy.
It goes without saying that we have a choice collection of wonderful clients with big ideas that we get to work on every day, but that shouldn’t stop a gal from dreaming right? Besides, exploring ideas like these is what gives us the creative brain power to think up newness for our already amazing clients.
Does one of these ideas sound like something you’d like for your business? Email me,so we can put our heads together to create something spectacular.
